Citrix® Secure Gateway allows Citrix MetaFrame® for Windows® and Citrix
MetaFrame 1.1 for UNIX® customers to simply and securely deliver
business-critical applications over the Internet, on demand to any device.
Citrix Secure Gateway protects remote users of Citrix Independent Computing
Architecture (ICA®) across the Internet by functioning as a Secure Sockets
Layer (SSL) gateway between Citrix MetaFrame servers and Citrix ICA client
devices. It also provides a single point of entry and secure access to Citrix
MetaFrame server farms.

Citrix Secure Gateway is an enterprise-wide solution that protects a customer's
network infrastructure, data and applications. All Citrix ICA traffic traversing
the Internet between client devices and the Citrix Secure Gateway server is
encrypted using Internet-standard SSL technology, ensuring the secure transfer
of data across public networks.
Easy deployment.
Citrix Secure Gateway eliminates the need to install additional client software
(beyond the Citrix ICA client) and can easily traverse Internet firewalls. It is
completely transparent to both applications and network devices.
Simple to use.
Citrix Secure Gateway removes the need to publish the address of every Citrix
MetaFrame server across the Internet. It simplifies server certificate
management and provides a single point of access into the Citrix MetaFrame
server farm. Citrix MetaFrame servers are hidden from the Internet and cannot be
accessed directly.
